New Hazard Enhancements
The following sections describe the updates to the Hazard methodology and its associated new API endpoints.
New Hazard Methodology
Climate on Demand introduces the newest hazard location methodology H.2026.1 in this release. With new and improved metrics compared to existing hazard metrics in Climate on Demand, the new hazard data is better aligned with the modeling used to generate the financial impact metrics. Therefore, the new Hazard metrics improve the explanatory power of the financial impact metrics and better allows you to understand the underlying drivers of the financial impact metrics.
As with every release, you can find the documentation for this new set of metrics in the Moody's Support Center along with the existing documentation for financial impact metrics.
New Job Type for Climate on Demand Pro
As part of this release, Climate on Demand introduces a new job_type for the new hazard data.
lookup-facilities-hazard
In this initial release, only location-level hazard data is available.
For this job_type, the input parameters are:
| Parameter | Description / Comments | Required | Accepted Values |
|---|---|---|---|
| m | methodology | Yes | H.2026.1, latest |
| rcp | Representative Concentration Pathway | Yes | rcp8.5, rcp4.5, all |
| th | Time Horizon | Yes | 2020, 2030, 2040, 2050, 2075, 2100 |
| categories | Peril Categories | No | Floods, Heat Stress, Hurricanes & Typhoons, Sea Level Rise, Water Stress, Wildfires, Earthquakes, any combination of the above list, all |
In this release, there are no “category level” or “subcategory level” hazard metrics (like legacy hazard. Each peril has one or more metrics as listed below by peril.
