The August 20 release introduces the following:

New NGFS Phase 5 Scenarios

Climate on Demand now supports the following NGFS Phase 5 scenarios for the Real Assets and Corporates asset classes. This expansion brings our scenario coverage for these asset classes to 21 scenarios.

  • NGFS5 - Current Policies
  • NGFS5 - Net Zero 2050
  • NGFS5 - Delayed Transition
  • NGFS5 - Fragmented World

You are now able to evaluate individual locations and portfolios of locations with these four additional scenarios. The new NGFS options affect the following endpoints:

  • score-facilities-impact
  • score-portfolio-impact
  • score-facilities-impact-rp
  • score-portfolio-impact-rp

Climate on Demand’s financial impact APIs for corporates are also augmented to include NGFS Phase 5 scenarios.
You are now able to evaluate parent companies and their child facility locations with the abovementioned four additional scenarios.

New Optional All Categories Parameter

Real Assets endpoints now accept an optional parameter to focus All Categories on perils affected by climate change (excludes Earthquakes). This enhancement allows you to request data that exclusively includes perils influenced by climate change. When the parameter is set as categories (climate_all), the cross-peril aggregate metrics labeled All Categories excludes risk associated with Earthquakes, as this peril is not impacted by climate change.

A new column is added to .CSV outputs from the API workflow indicating which parameter was selected.
If not specified, the parameter defaults to all, which outputs all covered categories, including Earthquakes.
At present, all and climate_all inputs are available for the following job types:

  • score-facilities-impact
  • score-portfolio-impact

All Categories Option Not Currently Available for Return Periods

Job types score-facilities-impact-rp and score-portfolio-impact-rp default to climate_acute, as the Return Period feature currently only covers acute perils.

Workflow Enhancements

Climate on Demand introduces API workflow enhancements in select endpoints, which offers you greater.

Call Multiple NGFS Scenarios

The following Real Assets API parameter expansions enable users to streamline their API requests for multiple ngfs scenarios into a single call. Use the following options to specify:

  • ngfs3_all to request all six NGFS Phase 3 scenarios in a single API call
  • ngfs4_all to request all seven NGFS Phase 4 scenarios in a single API call
  • ngfs5_all to request all four NGFS Phase 5 scenarios in a single API call.

Specify latest Methodology Parameters

Climate on Demand now allows you to request the latest methodology without needing to specify a version. The methodology parameter m now supports latest as an input, allowing you to select the latest methodology by default.
