Version 3.3 September, 2023

The September 27, 2023 release of Climate on Demand introduces API key authentication.

API Key Authentication

Climate on Demand APIs now supports API key authentication in addition to the existing access token method. To learn more about Climate On Demand authentication methods and for step-by-step instructions on acquiring an API key or temporary access token, see Authentication and Authorization.

Hazard Scoring Methodology 2023.3

With the release of hazard scoring methodology 2023.3, Climate on Demand is now expanded to include complete hazard data coverage for RCP8.5 and RCP4.5 for each decade through the end of the century. For the first time, Climate on Demand will include forward-looking data on changing tropical cyclone risks (Hurricanes & Typhoons) leveraging data from Moody's RMS climate-conditioned catastrophe models, climate model projections and the latest from peer-reviewed climate science literature.

Impact Scoring Methodology 2023.3

Climate on Demand’s impact scoring methodology is now updated with new capabilities for assessing financial impact and disruption from climate change. Our Heat Stress financial impact and business interruption assessment has been augmented to explicitly include the effects of Urban Heat Islands on extreme heat, productivity loss and increased energy costs. Additional adjustments have been made to Floods and Sea Level Rise in limited geographic areas to improve impact assessments. These improvements, along with all climate change financial impact, damage and disruption data from Moody's RMS are available only to Climate on Demand Pro subscribers. Users wishing to upgrade to Climate on Demand Pro should inquire further with their account representatives.

For further information, see our Climate on Demand Pro methodology documentation available on Support Center for more details.
